This flat in Gullane was tired and in need of significant attention when Renée Turner Interiors was asked to prepare it for Airbnb. The owners, based in Singapore, needed someone they could rely on to oversee the entire project and deliver a stylish, guest-ready home without them having to be on site.
Renée managed the project from start to finish, coordinating multiple trades and ensuring everything was carried out to the highest standard. The flat was completely stripped back, with old flooring removed, walls repainted, and electrics updated. Bespoke joinery was added to maximise space and functionality, while a brand-new kitchen and utility were installed to provide both style and practicality. Every fixture and fitting was carefully sourced to be durable, high quality and visually appealing.
Fresh finishes, curated furnishings and cohesive styling brought the flat to life, turning it into a space that feels modern, comfortable and welcoming. With Renée overseeing the project management, timelines and quality were maintained throughout, giving the clients peace of mind from overseas.

When this family relocated from London to Edinburgh, their new home presented them with an empty living room which was a blank canvas waiting to be transformed. They wanted a space that felt immediately like theirs, full of character, comfort, and personality, ready to welcome them into the next chapter of their lives.
Renée Turner Interiors took the project from the very beginning, planning the layout, selecting the perfect paint colours, and curating a scheme that reflected the family’s lifestyle and taste. This Victorian home on Buckingham Terrace in Edinburgh was ready for a fresh chapter. The clients, busy parents with young children, wanted to transform their tired living room and bedroom into calm, inviting retreats. They needed spaces that balanced the elegance of their period property with the comfort and practicality of modern family life.
Renée Turner Interiors began by carefully rethinking the layout and flow of the living room. Bespoke carpentry was introduced to create beautiful, functional storage and display solutions, designed to work seamlessly with the room’s Victorian proportions. Rich paint tones, layered textures and considered lighting choices elevated the space, while preserving the property’s architectural charm.

Ben Cruachan Guest House
A boutique guest house transformation in Edinburgh, using Mairi Helena wallpapers and fabrics to create memorable Scottish themed interiors for guests.
During the Covid period, Renée Turner Interiors had the privilege of redesigning Ben Cruachan Guest House in Edinburgh. The project began just before lockdown and resumed afterwards, making it a truly memorable journey for both designer and client. Despite the challenges, the result was a guest house that feels welcoming, characterful and perfectly aligned with the charm of Edinburgh.
The design concept was built around the distinctive style of Mairi Helena wallpapers and fabrics, whose bold patterns and colours celebrate Scotland’s landscapes and heritage. These prints became the foundation for the interiors, inspiring choices in furnishings, textures and palettes throughout the guest rooms and shared spaces. By combining these statement pieces with carefully curated lighting, furniture and accessories, the overall atmosphere became both stylish and inviting, offering guests a boutique hotel experience with a strong sense of place.
Since reopening, Ben Cruachan Guest House has received glowing reviews from visitors who praise the warm hospitality, beautiful interiors and attention to detail.
